Lachish: Israeli occupation police on Sunday detained 42 Palestinian workers from the West Bank near the Lachish area, south of the 1948 territories, under the pretext of attempting to enter Israel without entry permits.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation police stated that border guard forces conducted pursuit and search operations in the area after spotting a group of Palestinian workers near the separation barrier, resulting in the detention of 42 individuals.
The 1948 territories have been experiencing ongoing pursuit and detention campaigns against Palestinian workers attempting to reach their workplaces inside Israel to provide for their families. This situation arises amid challenging economic conditions in the occupied Palestinian Territory and increasing movement restrictions on workers since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces reportedly fatally shot a young man from the village of Salem, east of Nablus, near the separation wall in Al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem.
