Transport Minister inspects operational process in Hodeida port & mechanism for receiving ships
The Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, inspected on Thursday the progress of the operational process in the port of Hodeida.
Minister Al-Durra, along with the head of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Muhammad Ishaq, was briefed on the commercial and navigational activities in the port’s berths, the movement of handling and unloading of ships, and the services provided to ships.
The Minister of Transport also visited a number of berths and the container terminal in the port and was briefed on the mechanism for receiving ships waiting at the draft and the procedures followed for their entry to the designated berths. He listened to a number of importers, shipping agents and customs brokers explaining the facilities provided by the Corporation and the authorities operating in the port to unload, inspect and transport the goods.
The Minister of Transport stressed the importance of improving the services of loading and unloading goods and the integration between the various facilities operating in the port with the shipping companies. He hailed the efforts of the Corporation’s leadership and cadres in revitalizing the port of Hodeidah, loading and unloading work, and providing more facilities for shipping companies and businessmen.
