Post: Thousands Protest in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico Against Israeli Actions in Gaza

Sao Paulo: Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico to protest Israel's ongoing actions in the Gaza Strip, which they describe as genocidal.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Brazilians gathered in downtown Sao Paulo, the country's largest city, urging President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to cut diplomatic relations with Israel. The demonstrators prominently displayed Palestinian flags and images depicting the situation in Gaza. The protest received backing from various civil society organizations and several members of parliament.

Since October 7, 2023, the conflict has reportedly resulted in significant casualties and displacement in Gaza. The ongoing situation has been marked by reports of killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, with international calls and directives from the International Court of Justice to halt these actions being ignored.

The reported impact of the conflict includes approximately 184,000 casualties, with many victims being children and women, and over 11,000 individuals reported missing. Additionally, the conflict has led to widespread displacement and famine, contributing to further loss of life, including among children, and extensive destruction.
