The Supreme Investment Committee, headed by Al-Sudani, approves the establishment of the new Wasit residential city

The Supreme Investment Committee agreed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani to establish the new Wasit residential city. A statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office said that Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting of the Supreme Investment and Reconstruction Committee today, Sunday. The statement added that during the meeting, aspects of developing investment mechanisms in various economic and development sectors were discussed, and the files on the agenda were discussed and the necessary decisions were taken regarding them. The statement explained that "the meeting considered the investment file for Wasit Governorate, as part of the government's vision for establishing new cities, approval was given to establish the "New Wasit Residential City", which includes the distribution of serviced residential lands, in which the private sector real estate developer undertakes the establishment of infrastructure and service institu tions and the management of services, and they are sold at low costs to citizens from the categories determined according to the government's vision to address the housing crisis. According to the statement, the committee decided to reject the request to convert the site of the plot (3/6 Umm Al-Khail District) with an area of 77 dunums, in Diwaniyah Governorate, into a residential complex, and the Diwaniyah Investment Commission is responsible for announcing the investment opportunity to establish an entertainment project with modern and high-level plans and activities on the aforementioned plot, to be a civilized entertainment area that meets the needs of citizens in the governorate, according to the applicable investment law, within the framework of expanding domestic tourism activity. The committee issued a number of decisions that would expand investment in various economic sectors, increase the involvement of the private sector, create job opportunities, and support development in all fields.
