The Senate denounces Israeli aggression against Gaza
The Senate on Saturday condemned the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the attacks committed by the occupation army in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and its continued violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. “The continuation of these practices against the defenseless Palestinian people will have major consequences that will increase escalation, tension, and violence, and Israel must stop these blatant attacks.” a Senate statement issued Saturday evening cited Acting Senate President Abdullah Ensour as saying. He urged the international community not to remain silent about the murders committed by the Israeli occupation forces, and assume its moral and legal responsibilities to stop these Israeli attacks and crimes. “We in the Senate reaffirm our absolute support for all the efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah in defense of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and life, and His Majesty’s firm response to all Israeli measures and decisions targeting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital,” Ensour added. He called for unifying Arab positions with an active stance to support the Palestinian people in confronting Israeli arrogance and to support the efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah at all levels to support Palestine and the just cause of its people. “Israel’s continuation of this aggressive approach and these practices towards the Palestinian people will lead the region and the world to more chaos and instability,” Ensour underlined. He stressed that there is no solution to the Palestinian issue except through the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions in a way that enables the Palestinian people to obtain their rights.
