The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi. According to a presidential statement, the President of the Republic stressed the necessity of adopting a national strategy for higher education and scientific research to provide an encouraging climate that helps consolidate science and knowledge and keep pace with modern scientific developments. The President pointed out that the success of university education is an essential measure of the country's development, progress and prosperity, indicating the importance of improving school curricula and paying attention to the scientific and academic aspects of students in order to provide the country with energies and expertise in various fields. He stressed the necessity of activating coordination between Iraqi universities, as well as developing communication mechanisms, exchanging experiences and information, and strengthening the twinning and partnership process betw een them and universities in developed countries, stressing that the education sector receives great attention from the Presidency of the Republic as it is a top priority for human building and scientific preparation. For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, briefed the President on the Ministry's plans, programs and development projects for the education sector in the country, appreciating the directives of the President of the Republic and his interest and care for the educational caders.
