The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed the need to expedite the selection of a new Speaker of the House of Representatives. A statement by the media office of the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives stated: 'Al-Mandalawi met with the President of the Republic, and the two sides discussed the general situation in the country, in addition to discussing the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.' They stressed the need to intensify efforts among the political forces to speed up the selection of a new speaker for the House of Representatives and agree to approve legislation that meets the needs of citizens and contributes to improving living and service conditions. They also stressed the importance of supporting the government's measures in implementing its program, especially in the areas of establishing security, stability and economic development.
