Baghdad, The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, chaired the work of the 60th regular session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, held in Geneva. Al-Hasnawi confirmed in a speech when he chaired the meeting: 'The Council is discussing a number of important health topics, foremost of which are the health and humanitarian repercussions of the Israeli aggression against the State of Palestine, activating the work of the Arab Committee for Primary Health Care, and the Arab Health Committee for Emergency Preparedness and Response, and thanking Iraq for hosting the committee's work, and amending the list of the Arab Doctor Award, the recommendations of the meeting of Arab drug regulatory bodies, and preparations for the celebration of Arab Health Day 2024 " He added: "This year's Arab Doctor Award will be given to the Palestinian doctor in recognition of the heroic role of Palestinian doctors in the Gaza Strip and their legendary stand to treat the sick and injured despite the grave challenges fa cing the Palestinian health system, as a result of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against resilient Gaza." The Minister also welcomed Iraq's hosting of the Primary Health Care Conference early next year, 2025. The Minister concluded his speech by thanking the Council and the organizers of the meeting, calling on all ministers, in the name of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to attend the meeting of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, which will be held in the capital, Baghdad, next December.
