The Iraqi Turkmen Front called for the formation of a local government in Kirkuk, and renewed its adherence to the Turkmen initiative, which includes applying joint management and adopting the principle of rotating senior positions among the governorate's components. Hassan Turan, head of the front, said during a meeting of its leaders, 'We will not allow any harm to the security and stability of Kirkuk Governorate, which has recently witnessed a number of security violations and cases of attacks on defenseless citizens.' He called on the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Interior to impose security and law in Kirkuk, and to hold accountable security leaders who are negligent in performing their duties.
