The Iraqi Embassy in Ankara confirmed that it is following up on the circumstances of the killing of Iraqis in Afyonkarahisar province with the competent authorities in Turkey. A statement by the Embassy stated: 'Ambassador Majid Al-Lajmawi received the families of Iraqi citizens who were subjected to a killing accident in the Turkish state of Afyonkarahisar in the past days and offered condolences to their families.' Al-Lajmawi confirmed: 'The Embassy is following up with the competent Turkish authorities through diplomatic channels on the circumstances of the case and the reasons that led to its occurrence.' The Ambassador directed the consular section and the legal department at the Embassy to 'coordinate with the competent Turkish authorities to carry out a field visit as quickly as possible to determine the circumstances of the incident and follow up on the case in all its investigative and judicial stages.
