The IQAir website announced that the capital Baghdad currently tops the world's cities with the highest pollution rates, surpassing Lahore, Cairo and Delhi. Meteorologist Sadiq Attia said in a post on Facebook: "It is necessary to control and address the random burning of waste and close waste collection stations near the capital, and follow a strategy in distributing factories, plants and workshops located within the city and transporting them outside and dropping old cars that pollute the environment."
