Bethlehem - Ma'an - The police and security services arrested a number of suspects on Wednesday in a case of threats and blackmail against shop owners in the city of Bethlehem. The Public Relations and Media Department of the Police stated that a complaint was received about shop owners receiving several threats over the phone from a number belonging to Israeli telephone lines, which included requests to pay sums of money and repeated blackmail attempts in exchange for sensitive information about the shop owners. She added that after diligent follow-up and tracking the number used in the calls, several people were suspected and arrested, and the number used for blackmail was found in one of their homes after it was searched. She confirmed that the suspects were arrested to complete the necessary legal procedures against them. Source: Maan News Agency
