Spain Criticizes Israel’s E1 Project, Urges Ceasefire in Gaza

Madrid: Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jos© Manuel Albares has criticized Israeli plans to establish new colonies in East Jerusalem, noting that this violates international law and undermines the two-state solution that "Spain has been working for."

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Albares expressed his disapproval through a post on X, where he condemned Israel's decision to build new settlements in East Jerusalem. He emphasized that these actions violate international law, divide Palestinian territory, and threaten the viability of the two-state solution that Spain supports.

In his statement, Albares addressed the situation in Gaza, calling for an end to the escalation of the Israeli military occupation, which he stated would lead to more deaths and suffering. He highlighted that the path to peace and security lies in a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, an influx of humanitarian aid, and a commitment to the two-state solution.
