Madrid: Spanish Foreign Minister Jos© Manuel Albares has announced that Israeli ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, known for their far-right positions, have been prohibited from entering Spain. This decision places them on a list of sanctioned individuals, effectively banning their presence on Spanish soil.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Albares made it clear in a press statement that the inclusion of the two Israeli ministers on the sanctions list aligns with Spain's commitment to uphold its national and European sovereignty, as well as human rights. The minister emphasized the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip as a significant factor influencing this decision.
Albares expressed concern over the escalating conflict in Gaza, highlighting the unacceptable number of casualties resulting from the ongoing war. He also pointed out the severe humanitarian crisis, noting that starvation poses a threat to 250,000 people in the besieged region.
