The Unites States and South Korea began joint air drills Tuesday to enhance joint combat capabilities. South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that the military exercises will continue until August 8. The Maneuvers will be hosted by an air base in Suwon, south of the capital Seoul, and will involve the participation of the US Marine Corps' F/A-18C/D and F-35B fighters, in addition to the South Korean F-16, FA-50, KA-1 and F-15K aircraft. The joint air drills of the armed forces will include the armed forces' fighter maneuvers, close air support, air interception and air defense. Earlier this month, the US Indo-Pacific Command said that F/A-18 Hornet aircraft and the US Navy's All-Weather Fighter Strike Squadron had arrived at Suwon Air Base to boost its readiness and capability.
