The Somali army foiled two failed attacks launched by militants of the Al-Shabaab movement linked to Al-Qaeda, on the Harbole area in Afmadow city, and another on the Bulo Haji area in Lower Juba Region Monday morning. The Somali forces inflicted heavy losses on the movement's militants who attempted to launch the two failed attacks, and are continuing to pursue the fugitives in the forests. "The elements of the Kharijite militias that launched a failed attack on the liberated areas suffered heavy casualties, thanks to a large number of the national army and the forces of Jubaland State," said the Somali Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala, in a statement carried by the Somali News Agency /SONNA/. It is worthy of note that the Somali security forces have succeeded in the past months in retaking several areas in the center and south of the country from the control of the Al-Shabaab movement.
