The Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in Amanat Al-Asimah received on Tuesday the sixth phase of the sewage project in Al-Fawares neighborhood in Sha'oub District. The sixth phase of the $220,000 project involved the connection of a sewage network of one thousand and 700 meters in the Fawares neighborhood. The Director of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the Capital Municipality, Eng. Muhammad Madas, explained in a statement to "Saba" that the number of beneficiaries of this service project, which was implemented by the Public Works Project Project funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) under the supervision of the Works and Projects Sector in the Municipality, is more than four thousand residents of Al-Fawares neighborhood in Sha'oub District. He pointed out that the project comes as part of the Foundation's plan and efforts to expand and improve the provision of water and sanitation services to citizens in various neighborhoods of the capital's municipa lity directorates. In turn, the Director of the Sanitation Department at the Corporation, Eng. Jamil Mansour, explained the importance of the project in alleviating the suffering of citizens by delivering sewage service to homes, and reducing health damage due to sewage overflow.
