SCMCHA reviews central correctional facility needs in Sana’a

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA), Ibrahim Al-Hamli, and the Head of ICRC delegation in Yemen, Daphnée Maret, briefed today,Thursday, on the needs of the Central Correctional Facility in Sana'a province. Al-Hamli, Maret, and the head of the Correctional and Rehabilitation Department, Major General Abdul Hamid Al-Muayyad, listened to an explanation from the director of the correctional facility in Sana'a province, Colonel Ali Muhammad Abu Kahla, about the level of services provided to inmates and the needs of the correctional facility to develop and modernize its infrastructure, including establishing a health center ,the difficulties facing the workflow and ways to address them. SCMCHA affirmed the Council's interest in the reformatory inmates, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Department, and its keenness to meet the reformatory's needs. He pointed out the importance of prepar ing studies for the needs of the reformatory in the province, pointing out that the council will work to follow up on the organizations whose work is related to this aspect, to support the reformatory and provide its needs. In turn,Maret confirmed that the mission will work to study the correctional needs with the Council , the concerned authorities and work to provide the needs. They were accompanied during the visit by the representative of Interior Ministry in the Supreme Council, Yahya Al-Muaydi. Source: Yemen News Agency
