Saudi Arabia and Oman Condemn Israeli Knesset’s Sovereignty Vote Over West Bank

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned a recent vote by the Israeli Knesset urging the Israeli government to impose sovereignty over the West Bank and Jordan Valley. In a statement released on Thursday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this move as a flagrant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the statement from Saudi Arabia criticized the Knesset's call as provocative steps that undermine ongoing efforts to achieve peace through the two-state solution. The statement further emphasized the Kingdom's firm rejection of all violations by the occupation against the Palestinian population and their rights, particularly the right to self-determination.

The Ministry called on the international community to take serious steps to implement UN resolutions supporting the Palestinian people's right to live with dignity on their land within an independent state on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Sultanate of Oman also expressed its denunciation of the Israeli Knesset's call to impose sovereignty over the West Bank, describing the move as a blatant challenge to international law and UN resolutions. Oman stressed that this action deliberately undermines prospects for peace in the Middle East, the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, and the two-state solution.
