PM Mustafa: The Catastrophic Humanitarian Situation in Gaza is Intolerable; Our People Need More Than Aid

Gaza city: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa highlighted the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, stating that the humanitarian crisis has reached intolerable levels. He emphasized that while humanitarian aid is crucial, the people of Gaza are in desperate need of freedom, dignity, and a future beyond mere survival. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Prime Minister Mustafa made these remarks during a high-level coordination meeting at the Government Operations Room for Emergency Interventions for Gaza. The meeting, held on Thursday, aimed to mobilize international pressure to end the ongoing conflict and strengthen relief efforts. Attendees included diplomats, UN representatives, humanitarian organizations, and government officials. The Prime Minister urged the global community to enhance support for Gaza by providing more humanitarian assistance and working to end the conflict. He called for the opening of border crossings to allow unimpeded entry of essential aid to address the escalati ng humanitarian needs. EU Representative to Palestine Alexandre Stutzmann reiterated the EU's stance, emphasizing that the situation in Gaza requires change. He noted that European leaders have voiced concerns and that discussions with relevant parties are ongoing. The EU is actively monitoring the situation through its Humanitarian Aid Office and UN agencies, focusing on resuming essential services such as bakery operations and fuel supply. A representative from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) provided insights into the logistical challenges and restrictions imposed by Israel, which continue to hinder effective aid delivery to Gaza. The meeting underscored the necessity of coordinated international efforts to enhance humanitarian operations in Gaza, working closely with the Palestinian Government and the Government Emergency Operations Room. Participants from diplomatic missions, UN agencies, and humanitarian organizations affirmed their commitment to addressing the crisis.
