Saudi Ambassador affirms his country’s firm stance toward Palestinian issue
SUDIA: The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Palestine and its Consul General in Jerusalem, Nayef Al-Sudairi, confirmed today that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not accept any pressure from any party regarding its firm stance toward the Palestinian issue.
The Saudi ambassador said, during an interview with Palestine TV, that the Kingdom is aware of the suffering of the Palestinian people and will not accept Israeli practices towards them.
He pointed out that the Kingdom strongly rejects the forcible displacement of the Palestinian people in general, and Gaza in particular.
Ambassador Al-Sudairi added that the relations linking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the State of Palestine are historical and rooted and they are based on permanent support for Palestine and a firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, which will culminate in the establishment of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He noted that the Kingdom’s aim behind holding the emergency Arab-Islamic summit was to support the Palestinian people, noting that the committee was formed under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the membership of active countries, foremost of which is the State of Palestine, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and Nigeria.
Al-Sudairi said that the committee set out to travel around the world to highlight what emerged from the summit, most notably stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza, preventing displacement, and delivering aid without any difficulties or obstacles.
Regarding the amount of Saudi aid that reached the Gaza Strip, Al-Sudairi said, ‘The Kingdom is one of the largest countries supporting Palestine in general, and the Gaza Strip in the recent crisis, as the Sahim platform affiliated with the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid collected more than 650 million riyals, allocated as shelter and medical aid.’
