Rocket Fragment Incidents Across West Bank Result in Fatalities and Injuries

West bank: The Central Operations Directorate has reported the alarming fall of 198 rocket fragments across various areas in the West Bank governorates since February 28, 2026. These incidents have led to the tragic deaths of five citizens, with four fatalities occurring in the Hebron Governorate. Additionally, one person died from a fall while observing the rockets. The incidents have also resulted in nine injuries and approximately 27 cases of material damage to citizens' property.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Police Media Spokesperson Loay Irziqat emphasized that the police, under the directives of Major General Alaa Al-Saqa, Chief of Police, have heightened their readiness to monitor the situation closely. The police are committed to providing necessary assistance to citizens, enhancing their field presence, responding to falling rocket debris and fragments, and ensuring civilian protection from potential hazards.

The police are working in coordination with relevant authorities to maintain security and order, deploying field teams across affected areas to ensure public safety. Citizens are urged to exercise caution, avoid rooftops for observation, and remain in safe locations to reduce the risk to their lives.

The police also advise against approaching or tampering with suspicious objects, highlighting the importance of reporting such objects and any related damage or injuries to authorities for appropriate action. They stress the significance of steering clear of rumors and relying on official statements from accredited sources to uphold public awareness and security.
