Post: Rising Temperatures Alert: Palestine Braces for Intensifying Heatwave

Ramallah: The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that the region will experience hot to very hot weather conditions starting Wednesday, with temperatures expected to climb significantly above the annual average. The PMD highlighted that temperatures will soar approximately 4-5 degrees Celsius higher than usual, accompanied by westerly to northwesterly winds ranging from light to moderate, occasionally becoming active. The sea conditions are predicted to have light to medium waves.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the heatwave will persist into Thursday with temperatures maintaining the same elevated levels, remaining 4-5 degrees Celsius above the normal range. The wind patterns will continue from the west to northwest, with similar light to moderate speeds, sometimes becoming active, and the sea will experience light to medium waves.

As the week progresses, Friday is anticipated to bring even hotter conditions, with temperatures expected to rise further, reaching 5-6 degrees Celsius above their annual average. The wind and sea conditions will remain consistent with the previous days.

The forecast for Saturday indicates a continuation of the very hot weather, with an additional slight increase in temperature, reaching about 7 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average. The PMD has issued a warning regarding the potential dangers associated with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, particularly during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, there is an increased risk of fires in areas with abundant dry grass, and the public is urged to adhere to instructions from the Civil Defense.
