Shura Council's Human Rights and Public Liberties Committee, headed by the Committee's Head, Hasiba Chenif, made an inspection visit to the National Cancer Foundation and Al-Amal Cancer Center. The Head of the Committee, along with Vice Head of the Committee Dirham Al-Zakari, Committee Rapporteur Nabil Al-Hammadi, members of the Committee Ahmed Al-Dhafri and Nayef Haidan, and Member of the Administrative Reform Committee of the Council, Nour Baabad, were briefed on the nature of the services , activities provided by the Foundation , Al-Amal Center , the difficulties and obstacles that stand before them. The visitors listened to a presentation by the Assistant Director General of the National Foundation, Zakir Al-Absi, about the activities of the Foundation , the center and what it requires in providing the necessary capabilities to be able to provide medical and therapeutic services and perform surgical operations for cancer patients. He pointed out that Al-Amal Cancer Center, which will be opened soon, la cks the necessary equipment, operational expenses, medical staff, and medications, which represent a major obstacle to providing its services to a segment of cancer patients, including the elderly and children. During the visit, the head and members of the committee confirmed that, in accordance with the tasks and competencies of the committee, a comprehensive report will be submitted to the Presidency of the Shura Council on the difficulties , obstacles facing the institution and Al Amal Cancer Control Center. They noted that work will be done to urge the relevant authorities, such as the Zakat and Endowments Authority, and the concerned authorities, to provide the necessary support to enable the Foundation and Al-Amal Center to provide optimal services to patients.
