Diyala Governorate recorded / 23 / suicide cases during the first half of the current year. A source in the Human Rights Commission in Diyala told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that Diyala recorded / 23 / suicide cases, including / 7 / cases in Al-Khalis district north of Baqubah, which is the highest percentage, and / 16 / other suicide cases distributed between Baqubah, Muqdadiyah and Khanaqin. He added that the reasons for the increase in suicide cases in Diyala, most of which were among young people, are due to addiction to drugs and social networking sites, the lack of a steady source of income, and domestic violence.
