Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the statement issued by the office of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen regarding the agreement between the Yemeni government and the Houthis on measures to de-escalate tensions in the banking sector and Yemeni Airways. In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's hope that this step will enhance regional and international efforts aimed at achieving sustainable peace, fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability, and development. The ministry reaffirmed the State of Qatar's stance calling for resolving the Yemeni crisis based on the Gulf Initiative, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2,216.
