The State of Qatar participated in the extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates. Held at the headquarters of the League's General Secretariat in Cairo today, the session discussed the continuing crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as well as the escalation of Israeli aggression and settler terrorism in the occupied West Bank including Jerusalem. Qatar's delegation to the meeting was headed by Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the League of Arab States Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim. This meeting is at the request of the State of Palestine to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as in light of the United States' recent use of veto in the UN Security Council against the State of Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.
