Doha: Al Rayyan coach Poya Asbaghi and Al Shahania coach Alvaro Mejia spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 4 match, scheduled for tomorrow. Asbaghi said in the pre-match press conference: "looking at the three matches they played in the league, you will find that they are a team that is difficult to defeat. They did not create many opportunities, but they defend well and only conceded a goal against Al Wakrah. They defend very well, so we have to be good tactically. On the other hand the coach expressed his satisfaction with the new contracts, which he considered an addition to his team, noting that Al Rayyan needs a large list of players during the season due to their participation in many tournaments, especially the AFC Champions League Elite. Al Rayyan stands at the eighth place in the Qatari league table with three points, while Al Shahaniya is in eleventh place with two points. In turn, Spanish coach Alvaro Mejia of Al-Shahaniya emphasized the difficulty of fac ing Al-Rayyan tomorrow, affirming that their opponents are one of the best teams and have distinguished players. He noted that despite the difficulty of the competition: "we trust ourselves. we will play the match like all matches in order to achieve victory." "In our last match (against Qatar SC in the QSL Cup), the performance declined in the second half after scoring three goals, so we have to learn from our mistakes and overcome this problem in the upcoming matches," added Mejia.
