Qatar Beach Handball Team to Face US Counterpart in World Tournament

The International Handball Federation (IHF) has revealed the match schedule of the 11th IHF Men's and Women's Beach Handball World Championships that will be staged in Pingtan Island, China, from June 18-23. Being listed on Group D, the Qatari Men's team is slated to face US on June 18 and Uruguay on June 19 in the second match prior to confronting Germany in the same day. Group A comprises Australia, Oman, Denmark, and Hungary, with Group B including Tunisia, Spain, China, and Brazil, and Group C Puerto Rico, Portugal, Argentina, and Croatia. The top three teams from each group in the preliminary round will qualify for the main round of the tournament. This is the seventh participation of Qatar in the world championship after Turkiye's edition 2010 in which Qatar ranked 10th and 7th in Oman edition. Qatar achieved a remarkable milestone after being ranked 3rd in Brazil edition in 2014, as well as Hungary edition in 2016, 9th in Russia edition 2018 and 5th in Greece edition 2022.
