Doha: The Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) participated in the celebration of the World Amateur Radio Day, which falls on April 18 of each year. On this occasion, a special celebration was held, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which included a video conference meeting for a number of amateur radio societies from various countries of the world, followed by a call to four stations through the special transmitter for amateur radio broadcasting via the Qatari satellite EshailSat 2. On behalf of QARS, HE Vice-President of the Board of Directors of QARS Dr. Ahmed Hamad Al Mohannadi participated in the celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. Celebrating this occasion, the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) decided to hold a special event with its member associations for two weeks lasting until April 25. Stations from all over the world, including a station affiliated with QARS will conduct special events and bilateral radio communications to draw attention to the HS4A campai gn.
