Putin: BRICS group not competing, antagonizing anyone

The BRICS group is not in competition with anyone and does not want to antagonize the world, said Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

According to Russian television, Putin said in a televised address to the BRICS group’s summit held in South Africa that some adversaries were eager to hinder the birth of a multipolar world where no one has the sole decision in what happens globally.

Putin took the chance to criticize some global parties, namely western countries, for their meddling in world affairs, saying that his country was willing only to cooperate with others based on equality.

The Russian leader commended the growing relation between Russia and the African continent, reaffirming Moscow’s initiative to provide and transport 50,000 tons of grains to six African countries for free.

Russia will continue to invest in combating poverty in the world with all its might, said Putin, adding that his country would increase its exports of oil and natural gas to the African continent.
