Public works minister urges strong partnership with JCCA

Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abul Samen affirmed the significance of enhancing collaboration between the ministry and the Jordanian Construction Contractors Association(JCCA), highlighting the need to address shared concerns and engage in constructive discussions that would foster progress and growth within the sector. During his visit to the association’s headquarters and his meeting with the Council members, the Minister delved into the obstacles faced by Jordanian contractors and emphasized the need to develop effective solutions, as indicated by a JCCA statement on Tuesday. He also highlighted the significant role of the contracting sector as a major employer for various support professions, directly and indirectly contributing to job opportunities and supporting the Jordanian economy. Furthermore, Abul Samen underscored the importance of strengthening and activating communication channels with the association council, acknowledging its crucial role in tackling the issues and concerns of Jordanian contractors. Additionally, he highlighted the ministry’s commitment to maintaining an open and receptive approach towards the union and its council, bolstering collaboration and facilitating constructive dialogue. Fouad Al-Duwairi, JCCA vice president, stressed the essentiality of fostering partnership with the Ministry, which serves as the official sponsor and umbrella organization for the contracting sector. He emphasized the importance of activating the Higher Joint Committee’s involvement in the sector, highlighting the crucial nature of addressing the contractors’ daily challenges and effectively managing their affairs. These actions are expected to yield benefits for the Kingdom’s economic development and further strengthen the concept of partnership between the two sectors. Indicating the syndicate council’s role as the advocate for contractors, he affirmed its commitment to safeguarding their rights and interests both domestically and internationally. He voiced the council’s dedication to enhancing the sector’s influence and expanding its expertise in securing foreign bids, particularly in neighboring countries. This approach aims to strengthen the council’s position and ensure favorable outcomes for contractors.
