Prime Minister Mustafa Warns of Israeli Actions as De Facto Annexation

Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Monday cautioned against the Israeli occupation authorities' sweeping changes to land registration and civil control, which constitute a de facto annexation of the occupied territory. Prime Minister Mustafa made his remarks during a meeting with Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen at his office in Ramallah, with Finance and Planning Minister Estephan Salameh and the head of Finland's Representative Office to Palestine, Tarja Kangaskorte, in attendance.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa briefed Finnish Minister Valtonen on the recent developments. He stressed the importance of putting pressure on Israel to implement the second stage of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, allow unhindered access to humanitarian aid and shelters, and respect the ceasefire. This is particularly relevant since Israel has killed over 500 Palestinians in the Strip since the ceasefire agreement went into effect.

Prime Minister Mustafa warned against Israel's continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues, daily incursions, and colonist attacks against defenseless Palestinian civilians. He emphasized the need for exerting pressure to ensure the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions on the Palestinian Question. Additionally, he highlighted the New York Declaration's importance in realizing the territorial contiguity of Palestinian territory, statehood, and enabling the government to perform its mandate in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.

Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen expressed Helsinki's support not only for halting Israel's actions in Gaza and the push towards Gaza recovery and reconstruction but also for the two-state solution and regional stability.
