Prime Minister Mustafa Stresses Early Recovery and Restoration of Basic Services in Gaza

Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa emphasized the critical need for early recovery efforts and restoration of basic services in the Gaza Strip, alongside ongoing relief and humanitarian initiatives. These efforts are to be coordinated with international institutions to meet the urgent needs of the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Prime Minister's remarks came during a meeting with UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Palestine, Muhannad Hadi, held at Mustafa's office in Ramallah. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan, Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad, and Minister of Local Government Sami Hijjawi.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa presented the government's plan for relief and early recovery in Gaza, which was developed several months prior. He discussed updates following the cessation of aggression and outlined work priorities for the upcoming six months. The Prime Minister also highlighted the establishment of the Independent Authority for the Reconstruction of Gaza and preparations for an international donor conference aimed at supporting reconstruction efforts, in collaboration with donor countries and international institutions.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Mustafa underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between UN agencies and the government's emergency operations in Gaza. This includes working with the Ministry of Social Development, the Red Crescent, and international relief organizations to distribute aid effectively within the Strip.

UN Coordinator Muhannad Hadi detailed the ongoing efforts to facilitate the entry of 600 aid trucks daily into Gaza, which includes the provision of fuel. He also noted the coordination involved in distributing aid across the region and securing temporary shelters for displaced individuals. Hadi reaffirmed the UN agencies' commitment to collaborating with Palestinian institutions in relief, recovery, and reconstruction activities in the Gaza Strip.
