Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met on Thursday with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Ayman Al Safadi, who is visiting the country. During the meeting, they discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories and the developments of the joint mediation efforts to end the war. They emphasized the necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Strip and formulating an effective international stance to stop the illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and the chances of achieving just and comprehensive peace. The meeting also discussed the cooperation between the two countries in addressing the humanitarian catastrophe in t he Gaza Strip, ways to bring aid through the Jordanian route, and efforts to reduce regional escalation. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan emphasized the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's support for Lebanon's security and stability, stressing the need to adhere to Resolution 1701. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs voiced the State of Qatar's appreciation for the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in bringing humanitarian aid into Gaza through the Jordanian route. For his part, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan reiterated Jordan's support for the efforts made by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
