Jerusalem: The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine: stated that the holy month of Ramadan comes this year, as Palestinians face accelerating settlement annexation efforts, fragmentation of Palestinian territory and dismantling its geographical and political unity. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this coincides with escalating crimes committed by Israeli forces and colonists, including forced displacement, home demolitions, arbitrary arrests, and the imposition of a blockade, in addition to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. In a statement, Ramzi Khoury, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Committee added that Israel authorities routinely turn religious occasions in Palestine into a security issue to justify its repressive measures, including harassment, persecution, and deportations, thereby denying the fundamental right of all Palestinians, both Muslims and Christians, to practice their faith freely, safely, and peacefully. The committee stressed that in these critical and extremely dangerous moments for the future of Palestinians in their land, the international community and its institutions are required to fully assume their responsibility by taking all measures to stop Israel's unilateral violation of Palestinian rights. It further stressed that the occupied Palestinian territories belongs solely to the Palestinian people, and the occupation's decisions, especially the recent ones, will not succeed in altering their identity and their legal and political status.
