RAMALLAH: President Mahmoud Abbas today received an invitation to attend the Midnight Christmas Mass in Bethlehem on Sunday night, according to the Gregorian calendar, from the Custodian of the Holy Lands, Father Francisco Patton, and the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Lands, Father Ibrahim Feltz, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. Remarking on the invitation, the President said: 'The glorious Christmas holiday comes this year and our Palestinian people are being subjected to barbaric aggression and genocide everywhere in the country - in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.' He congratulated the Palestinian people, particularly the Christians that follow the Gregorian calendar, on this occasion, expressing hope that the holidays will come 'as the aggression and the shedding of the Palestinian blood have stopped so that peace will prevail in the land of peace.'
