Rome: President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Italian capital, Rome, for a three-day official visit to the Italian Republic. During his visit, President Abbas is scheduled to engage in discussions with key Italian leaders, including Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as well as an audience with Pope Leo XIII.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Abbas's delegation includes significant figures such as Ramzi Khoury, Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs. Accompanying them are Ziad Abu Amr, who is a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO); Majdi Al-Khalidi, the Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs; Muna Abu Amara, Palestine's Ambassador to Italy; and Issa Kassissieh, Palestine's Ambassador to the Holy See.
The visit underscores the importance of diplomatic relations and dialogue between Palestine, Italy, and the Vatican, focusing on strengthening ties and discussing matters of mutual interest.
