Beirut: The Palestinian presidency welcomed on Wednesday the announcement of the ceasefire coming into effect in Lebanon. The presidency emphasized its hope that this development will help to halt the violence and instability plaguing the region due to Israeli policies, which it claims are escalating tensions. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the presidency's statement highlighted the urgent need to implement UN Security Council Resolution No. 2735. This resolution pertains to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the entry of humanitarian aid, the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, preventing the displacement of Palestinians from the area, and empowering the State of Palestine to fully assume its responsibilities there. President Mahmoud Abbas expressed full support from the State of Palestine for the stability and security of Lebanon. He also underscored the importance of rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the war and extended wishes for continued progress and stabil ity for the Lebanese people.
