Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency has made an urgent appeal to the international community, emphasizing the need for immediate action to persuade Israel to allow the expedited entry of mobile houses and tents into the Gaza Strip. This call is specifically directed towards the U.S. administration and the guarantor states involved in the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency - WAFA, this request is driven by the current severe weather conditions that threaten the lives of residents in Gaza. The existing tents in the region are in disrepair, being old and torn, which renders them ineffective in preventing rain from penetrating and providing little protection for civilians.
The Presidency has also urged the removal of Israeli-imposed restrictions that hinder the Palestinian government's efforts to deliver essential shelter equipment, including mobile homes and tents, to Gaza. The goal is to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis and safeguard vulnerable populations, such as children, women, and the elderly, from the significant risks posed by the adverse weather conditions.
