Presidency Rejects Israeli Knesset’s Call to Annex Palestinian Land

Ramallah: The Israeli Knesset's recent call for the annexation and imposition of sovereignty over occupied Palestinian land has been firmly rejected and condemned by the Palestinian presidency, as stated by presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh on Wednesday.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the spokesperson emphasized that this call violates international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. These resolutions affirm that peace and stability can only be achieved through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Furthermore, all Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories are deemed illegal under international law.

The spokesperson warned that the calls to annex occupied Palestinian land pose a challenge to the international community's efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace. This peace is envisioned to be based on the two-state solution and United Nations resolutions, which support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The presidency further insisted that recognizing the Palestinian people's rights to freedom, independence, and self-determination over their national land is the only path to ensuring peace and security in the region.
