PRCS Retrieves Bodies of 11 Crew Members from Rafah’s Tal Al-Sultan

Rafah: The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced on Sunday afternoon the retrieval of the bodies of 11 crew members who were trapped for eight consecutive days in Rafah's Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, PRCS issued a press release detailing the joint efforts of its rescue teams alongside crews from OCHA, the Red Cross, and the Civil Defense to locate the missing team members. The rescue operation successfully recovered the bodies of six PRCS paramedics, four Civil Defense crew members, and one United Nations staff member.

The PRCS further noted that rescue teams continue to search the neighborhood for any additional bodies of missing personnel. Earlier in the day, PRCS President Younes Al-Khatib had revealed that the fate of the crew members was uncertain after they were injured by gunfire from Israeli occupation forces in the area.

The incident in Rafah's Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood occurred amidst a renewed Israeli military offensive in the southern region near the Egyptian border. This escalation followed Israel's unilateral decision to end the ceasefire agreement and recommence its bombardment of Gaza on March 18.
