Pope Leo XIV Condemns Violence and Forced Displacement in Gaza

Vatican city: Pope Leo XIV, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church and head of the Vatican State, said on Sunday that "there can be no future based on violence, forced displacement, and revenge," referring to the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Pope led the traditional Sunday prayer from the window of his office overlooking St. Peter's Square in the Vatican. During his address, he highlighted the situation in Gaza, which has been subjected to ongoing conflict and hardship for nearly two years.

Pope Leo XIV expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Church's priests who have shown their solidarity with Gaza, acknowledging the severe devastation faced by its inhabitants.

In his call for peace, the Pope stated, "I repeat with you today: there is no future based on violence, forced displacement, and revenge." His message underscored the need for a peaceful resolution to the conflicts affecting the region.
