Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Rahwi praised the multiple and large humanitarian projects implemented by the General Authority for Zakat and its vital role in helping the poor and needy and alleviating the conditions they live in as a result of the repercussions of the US-Saudi Emirati aggression and blockade that has been ongoing for nearly ten years. This came during his visit on Sunday to the General Authority for Zakat and his meeting with its Chairman Shamsan Abu Nashtan and a number of officials in the Authority, in the presence of Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office Taha Al-Sufyani. The Prime Minister listened to an explanation of the conditions of the Authority and the most prominent charity projects it implements in accordance with the legitimate banks, including cash assistance, which benefited during the past years 2 million and 851 thousand families (equivalent to 24 million beneficiaries) with an amount of more than 52 billion riyals. Abu Nashtan said that during the past years, the Au thority provided 14 billion and 937 million riyals for treatment assistance, benefiting more than 60,000 beneficiaries, and 5 billion and 484 million riyals for emergency response, benefiting about 500,000 beneficiaries, in addition to providing more than 10 billion riyals for garmins and inmates, benefiting more than 5,000 people, and providing zakat in kind to 560,000 families with about 9 billion riyals. The Prime Minister emphasized that all the projects implemented by the Authority deserve thanks and appreciation from everyone, including those who are tasked with performing this religious pillar. He praised the efforts of the Authority's leadership and all its officials , workers in supporting the targeted segments and its important approach in combating poverty and reducing unemployment through economic empowerment projects, wishing the Authority , its blessed activities continued success , expansion of this giving to include all the poor and needy.
