MUNICH: Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh discussed today with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the European-Arab efforts to end the aggression and push for a political path. During a meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Shtayyeh updated Borrell on the repercussions of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing the necessity of joint cooperation to stop the aggression, prevent any Israeli invasion of Rafah, open the crossings and facilitate the immediate entry of aid. He stressed the futility of returning to a political process that extends for years without result, especially with the lack of a partner in Israel. He affirmed that the required steps are an international recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations, in addition to an international resolution that includes a program to end the occupation.
