Petra, Kazakhstan’s TV & Radio Complex Sign MoU for Media Cooperation
In a move aimed at bolstering media ties and ensuring the dissemination of accurate news, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which encompasses the Kazinform International News Agency and several other media establishments, inked a memorandum of understanding on Sunday. This agreement underscores their shared ambition of fostering collaboration that aligns with the regulatory frameworks of both nations. The signing event, attended by the Kazakh Ambassador Aidarbek Toumatov, saw signatures from Fayrouz Mobaideen, Director General of Petra, and Raushan Kazhibayeva, Director General of the TV and Radio Complex of Kazakhstan. The essence of this memorandum is to fortify the media ties between these two entities, facilitating the exchange, production, and dissemination of media content while also focusing on skill enhancement and training of personnel. Mobaideen, while addressing the Kazakh delegation, underscored the profound implications of media cooperation and the pivotal role of regular skill enrichment for journalists, especially considering the swift advancements in digital realms and artificial intelligence. She emphasized that the accord stands as a testament to hone journalistic and administrative competencies of both organizations. Mobaideen reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to elevate the standards of media, ensuring the dissemination of accurate news, especially when misinformation is rampant in the digital age. She further shed light on Petra’s illustrious presence in the Jordanian media landscape, highlighting its unwavering dedication to credibility and professionalism. As Jordan’s official news agency, Petra mirrors the ethos, vision, and narratives of the Jordanian state across local, regional, and international spectrums. Boasting a rich media heritage, Petra ensures comprehensive coverage through its daily Arabic and English bulletins, augmented with photographs, video content, and infographics, capturing events and updates on a global scale. Mobaideen accentuated that this latest memorandum joins a series of partnerships Petra has fostered with various global news entities. On the other hand, Kazhibayeva expressed her elation at this collaboration, which she believes resonates with the deep-rooted camaraderie between Jordan and Kazakhstan. She offered insights into Kazakhstan’s media evolution, underlining the Television and Radio Complex’s status as one of Central Asia’s most venerable media establishments with a history spanning 26 years. She voiced a keen interest in harnessing shared successes, harmonizing the objectives of these two eminent media houses. The signing was also graced by Robert Muradyan, the Managing Director of the complex, alongside the Assistant Director General of Petra for Press Affairs and various agency directorate heads.
