Parliament Speaker calls on Secretary-General of United Nations not to allow mercenaries to represent Yemen
The Speaker of the parliament, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, demanded United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, that mercenaries should not be allowed to represent Yemen at United Nations meetings and encounters.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Council of Representatives reviewed the latest developments in the events in the Republic of Yemen and the difficult humanitarian and extraordinary circumstances experienced by the Yemeni people owing to the continued intransigence of the aggression coalition and its mercenaries on Yemen and Yemeni people.
He pointed out that the countries of the aggression coalition exceeded this by harassing the Yemenis through the economic war, which exacerbated the difficult humanitarian situation and the disastrous situation resulting from the continued repercussions of the aggression and the blockade.
The letter touched on the suspicious movements of the government of Riyadh hotels and a group of those whom the House of Representatives had previously revoked their membership due to their betrayal, bringing aggression and harming the interests of the Yemeni people.
The Speaker of the House of representatives said “We address you from the capital Sana’a on behalf of the people not to allow those mercenaries to represent the Yemeni people in any meetings and encounters held under the auspices of the United Nations or any of its bodies and institutions in order to prove their damage to the interests of the Yemeni people and to take the representation of the Yemeni people as a means of mercenarism on behalf of Yemen.”
He added, “Although, in fact, they have committed the crime of violating the constitution and high treason, neglecting the capabilities of the Yemeni people, plundering their wealth, and abandoning their obligations to pay the salaries of Yemeni civil, military, and retired employees since the transfer of the powers of the Central Bank to Aden.”
Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i expressed his regret that the United Nations turned a blind eye to everything that is happening in Yemen and continues to betray the hopes and aspirations of the Yemeni people and stands idly by towards the injustice that the people of Yemen have been exposed to for nearly nine years.
The letter pointed out that the United Nations thus abandoned its humanitarian responsibilities towards the suffering of the Yemeni people, and even did not work to end the aggression and blockade and open the Yemeni airports and ports completely and rightly and the demand of all the people of Yemen in the north, south, east and west of the country.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives called from the constitutional capital of the Republic of Yemen to investigate the truth and stop bias towards the coalition of aggression and its tools, especially after it became clear to everyone who is working to tear Yemen apart and plunder its wealth and who preserves its unity, sovereignty and stability, and Sana’a’s stances demanding the allocation of Yemen’s wealth for the benefit of development and the payment of salaries of employees in all provinces of the Republic .
He called on the United Nations to take decisive and firm stances on the humanitarian file and put an end to that drama.
