Parliament discusses report of Local Authority Committee

Parliament discussed in its session held on Wednesday chaired by Speaker Yahya al-Ra’i the report of the Local Authority Committee regarding evaluating the level of collection of local, joint and public financial resources during the first half of the year 1444 AH at the level of administrative units in the capital’s Sana'a and the provinces.

The Parliament approved addressing the head of the National Salvation Government to oblige the Ministries of Finance, Local Administration, and Public Works and Roads to implement a number of recommendations.

In the session, members of the Parliament heard from Minister of State for Parliament and Shura Council Affairs Ali Abu Haliqa, the government’s message regarding completing the constitutional procedures for issuing the National Petroleum Companies Law, which was included in the national vision projects of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals.

The Parliament also heard from Minister of Oil and Minerals Ahmed Daris the explanatory memorandum regarding the aforementioned draft law, and approved its referral, along with his explanatory memorandum, to a specialized committee to take the necessary constitutional measures.

In addition, the Parliament reviewed the report of the Services Committee regarding the results of failing to complete Wadi Surdud -al-Kadan bridge project in al-Dhahi district in Hodeida province in light of the question of Council member Ali Baghawi Bald, who was referred to the committee.

The Parliament has postponed its discussion of the report to the next session.
