The organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games canceled on Sunday the triathlon pre-race activity due to the Seine River pollution level. A joint statement by the Paris Olympics organizers and the World Triathlon organization said that the current water quality of the river prevents the pre-race event from being held. Rain, witnessed in the opening ceremony of the tournament Friday and continued Saturday, goes to the water drainage system in the French capital untreated. Organizers still expressed confidence that the race would be held on July 30 with test on the water quality on Tuesday and Wednesday. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo took a dip in the Seine River prior to the Olympics Games to reflect confidence in the water quality of the river. Source: Kuwait News Agency
