Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has issued a call to the United Nations and its specialized entities, particularly UNESCO, to take immediate measures to protect Jerusalem's holy sites, with a focus on Al-Aqsa Mosque. This appeal emphasizes the need for intervention to prevent occupation plans and unilateral actions affecting these significant sites.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the ministry released a statement on Sunday highlighting the necessity for effective actions to hold Israel accountable for its activities in Jerusalem. The statement describes these actions as violations of international law, contributing to the broader issues of genocide, displacement, Judaization, and annexation impacting the Palestinian population.
The ministry expressed significant concern over the increasing raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rise in Talmudic rituals being performed within its courtyards. It warned of the potential consequences of altering the historical and legal status quo of the mosque and the broader Holy City.
